The Mentor Matching with the Link is finalized, and we are proud to have matched 97 mentors.
Depending on the rationale behind the mentoring initiative different organizations may find different approaches helpful. At The Link the objective is to match a female professional with a mentor, so the matching required needs to be more multi-dimensional and ranges across the different mentoring types – classical, informal, reverse or cross mentoring.
The Link has used below matrix to define which is the closest match to a mentor/mentee, based upon the information provided in the registration survey on www.the-link.org.
Whilst for the mentor the main decision criteria were their skills, background, work experience and what they are offering to the program, the criteria for the mentees were a bit different.
For the mentee it was important to highlight their goals, personal development plan, preferences, background and work experience to find their ideal match.
To elaborate on the specific criteria of the skills of the mentor, The Link looked at:
- Mentoring Skills
- Coaching Skills
- Technical Skills
- Managerial Skills
To elaborate on the specific criteria of the background of the mentor, The Link looked at:
To elaborate on the specific criteria of the work experience of the mentor, The Link looked at:
- Role / Task
To elaborate on the specific criteria of the offering of the mentor, The Link looked at:
- Areas of support
- Interest to support
The most important matching criteria though is the chemistry between the tandem, so we are excited and look forward to seeing how mentor and mentee connected and accompany their journey for the next nine months.
